Ariana grew up in Florida
where she began to experiment with her acting and
singing talents. While in her teens, Ariana
appeared on Broadway in play 13 (which
won her a National Youth Theatre Association
Award), and starred in the Nickelodeon shows Victorious
and Sam & Cat.
September 21: Ariana topped the
Billboard 200 LP chart for 1 week and Digital
Albums chart for 1 week with Yours
Truly.
The LP sold over 138,000 copies it first week of
release in the US. The LP hit the Top 10 in
Australia, Canada, Holland, Ireland, Japan, and
the UK.
August 16: Ariana topped the
Billboard Digital Songs chart for 1 week with Jessie
J and Nicki Minaj and Digital Tracks chart
for 1 week with "Bang Bang."
August 30: Ariana topped the
Billboard Dance/Electronic Songs chart for 9
weeks and Dance/Electronic Digital Songs chart
for 1 week with help from Zedd with "Break Free."
September 13: Ariana topped the
Billboard 200 LP chart for 1 week, Internet
Albums chart for 1 week, and Digital Albums chart
for 1 week with My
Everything. The LP sold over 169,000 copies
its first week of release in the US.
May 22: After an Ariana concert
in Manchester, England, a suicide bomber caused
the deaths of 23 people and over 100 injuries.
The bomb had been denoated in the foyer of the
arena.
June 4: Ariana planned and
succeeded with a benefit concert for the victims
of the Manchester bombing with the 'One Love
Manchester' benefit concert. The 3 hour concert
ended up with many major acts including Ariana.
February 23: Ariana topped the
Billboard 200 LP chart for 2 weeks , Album Sales
chart for 1 week, and Digital Albums chart for 1
week with thank
u, next.
December 31: Ariana topped the Billboard 2019
Year-End Chart Toppers as the Top Overall Artist
