- Demi Lovato was born on
August 20, 1992 in New Mexico and raised in
Texas. Her career in entertainment first began
with acting in Barney & Friends when
still a child, and on the Disney Channel's Camp
Rock movies. Demi signed with Hollywood
Records and released her debut LP at the age of
16. Throughout her developing and successful
career, Demi would later be more open about her
personal struggles with depression and an eating
disorder.
- February 8: Demi could be seen in her
own Disney Channel TV show, Sonny With A
Chance, which aired for 2 seasons.
- August 10: Demi could be heard on
the Camp
Rock 2
soundtrack on the tracks "Brand New
Day," "Can't Back Down,"
"It's On," "Wouldn't Change A
Thing," "You're My Favorite Song,"
"What We Came Here For," "This Is
Our Song," "Different Summers,"
and "It's Not Too Late."
- October 30: Demi left touring with
the Jonas Brothers and entered a treatment
facility. A representative for Demi stated:
"Demi Lovato left her tour early this
weekend in order to seek medical treatment for
emotional and physical issues she has dealt with
for some time."
- January 28: Demi completed inpatient
treatment and acknowledged that she had been
battling bulimia and was 'self-medicating' with
drugs and alcohol. She also revealed that she had
been diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
- July 6: Demi topped the Billboard
Dance Club Play Songs chart for 1 week with
"Heart Attack,"
- July 4: Demi performed with the Boston
Pops at the annual 'Fireworks
Spectacular' concert.
- July 11: Confident was certified gold.
- July 7: Demi hit the ARC Weekly Top 40 helping out Clean
Bandit with "Solo."
- July 24: Demi was hospitalized for
an opiod overdose in LA. Demi cancelled her tour
and entered rehab. The overdose was later
determined to be oxycodone laced with fentanyl.
Demi spent 2 weeks in the hospital before
entering a in-patient rehab facility.
- September 3: Demi topped the Billboard
Rock Albums chart and Alternative Albums chart
with Holy
Fvck.
