Rapper T.I., also known as
"Tip" Harris and 'King of the South'
was born Clifford Joseph Harris, Jr. on September
25, 1980 in Atlanta, Georgia. T.I. signed with
Atlantic Records/LaFace Records after being
dropped by Arista Records when his debut LP
failed to sell well.
April 15: T.I. topped the Billboard
200 LP chart for 1 week, Digital Albums chart for
1 week, R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart for 4 weeks,
and Rap Albums chart for 6 weeks with King.
April 22: T.I. topped the Billboard
R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart for 6
weeks and Rap Songs chart for 6 weeks with "What You Know."
April 12: T.I. topped the Billboard
R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart for 3
weeks and Rap Songs chart for 3 weeks helping out
Young Dro with "Shoulder Lean."
November 11: T.I. topped the Billboard

July 21: T.I. topped the Billboard
200 LP chart for 2 weeks, Digital Albums chart
for 1 week, R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart for 3
weeks, and Rap Albums chart for 4 weeks with T.I.
Vs. Tip. The LP sold over 468,000 copies it
first week of release in the US.
March: T.I. pleaded guilty to
federal weapons possession charges. He will be
required to complete over 1000 hours of community
service and will also receive some time in jail.
September 6: T.I. topped the Billboard
Hot 100 chart for 7 weeks, Digital Songs chart
for 3 weeks, and Digital Tracks chart for 2 weeks
with "Whatever You Like."
October 18: T.I. topped the Billboard
Hot 100 chart for 6 weeks, Digital Songs chart
for 2 weeks, and Digital Tracks chart for 1 week
with help from Rihanna with "Live Your Life."
October 18: T.I. topped the Billboard
200 LP chart for 2 weeks, Digital Albums chart
for 1 week, R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart for 5

Trail.
The LP sold over 568,000 copies its first week of
release in the US.
November 22: : T.I. topped the

November 8: T.I. topped the Billboard

with Paperwork.
March 10: Pharrell and Robin Thicke (and to a lesser extent,
T.I.) lost a lawsuit to the tune of $7.3 million
filed by the estate of Marvin Gaye which claimed the hit
"Blurred Lines" was a rip off of
Gaye's hit "Got To Give It Up." They
said in a joint statement: "While we respect
the judicial process, we are extremely
disappointed in the ruling made today which sets
a horrible precedent for music and creativity
going forward."
March 17: T.I. could be heard on
the Furious 7 soundtrack with the track
"Off-Set."
