TIMELINE
Lizzo was born as Melissa
Jefferson on April 27, 1988 in Michigan. She
began being interested in music while her family
lived in Texas and was a member of the 'Cornrow
Clique' group in her teens. Lizzo also studied
classic music and the flute while at the
University of Houston. In her early 20's, Lizzo
moved to Minneapolis to get into the music
industry and became a member of 'Lizzo & The
Larva Ink' and 'Chalice'. By 2013, Lizzo released
her debut LP Lizzobangers.
August 31: Lizzo topped the
Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart for 11
weeks, R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Songs chart for 9
weeks, and Rap Songs chart with "Truth Hurts."
September 7: Lizzo topped the
Billboard Hot 100 chart for 7 weeks, Digital
Songs chart for 5 weeks, and Dance/Mix Show
Airplay chart for 9 weeks with "Truth Hurts."
September 7: Lizzo could be seen in
the film Hustlers.
