TIMELINE
Cardi B was born October
11, 1992 and raised in New York City. Before
obtaining success in the rap world, Cardi B could
be seen on the VH1 reality series Love &
Hip Hop: New York. In her teen years, Cardi
B was a self-professed gang member, worked in a
supermarket, and started stripping at a strip
club at the age of 19. Cardi B (a reference to
Barcadi rum) has stated the experience of
stripping empowered her to move on from her life
of poverty and domestic violence.
