Flo Rida was born Tramar
Dillard on December 16, 1979 in Florida. Flo Rida
was the youngest boy in a family with 7 sisters.
When one of his sisters passed away from
bronchitis complications, Flo Rida made a
commitment to himself to "...make the most
of my time on earth." As a teen, Flo Rida
joined a rap group named the 'Groundhoggz' which
eventually led to touring with Fresh Kid Ice of 2
Live Crew. Creating a rapper name that
pays homage to his home state and his rapping
style, Flo Rider made it further into the music
scene on mixtapes in 2006 and on DJ
Khaled's LP We
The Best in 2007 on the track "Bitch
I'm From Dade County."
January 5: Flo Rida topped the
Billboard Hot 100 chart for 10 weeks, Pop 100
chart for 13 weeks, and Rap Songs chart for 11
weeks with help from T-Pain with "Low."
December 31: Flo Rida topped the Billboard Year-End
Charts with the Top Hot 100 Single, Top
Pop 100 Song. Top Pop 100 Airplay Track, Top
Digital Song, Top Digital Track. Top Soundtrack
Single, Top Hot Mainstream Top 40 Song, and Top
Hot Rhythmic Song ("Low").
February 28: February 28: Flo Rida topped the
Billboard Hot 100 for 6 weeks, Pop 100 chart for
7 weeks, Digital Songs chart for 6 weeks, and
Digital Tracks chart for 6 weeks with "Right Round."
March 14: Flo Rida topped the
singles chart for 1 week in the UK with "Right Round."
August 21: Flo Rida topped the
singles chart in the UK for 1 week with David Guettawith
"Club Can't Handle Me." The song also
topped the charts in Poland, Ireland, and
Scotland, and hit the Top 10 in Australia,
Austria, Belgium, Canada, Finland, France,
Germany, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, New
Zealand, Spain, Switzerland, and Norway.
