Lionel Richie was born on
June 20, 1949 in Tuskegee, Alabama. Richie began
his music career in the 60s before joining The Commodores in 1968. Richie was
credited with writing many of their greatest hits
and was songwriting for other artists by the end
of the 70s. In 1982, Richie went solo.
November 17: Richie topped the
