Charlie Puth was born
December 2, 1991 in New Jersey. From an early
age, music was a big interest for Charlie
eventually leading to graduating from the Berklee
College of Music with a music production major.
Charlie began trying to get his music to the
public through YouTube and his channel Charlies
Vlogs. He rose to fame when he contributed
vocals to the big Wiz Khalifa hit See You Again" from the Furious
7soundtrack.
Charlie was signed to
Ellen DeGeneres' music label,
eleveneleven, after she saw him with Emily
Luther performing the cover of the Adele song "Someone Like
You."
Charlie released the
promotional single "Break Again."
April 18: Charlie topped the
Billboard Digital Songs chart for 7 weeks and
R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Songs chart for 13 weeks
helping out Wiz Khalifa with "See You Again."
April 25: Charlie topped the UK
singles chart for 2 weeks helping out Wiz Khalifa with "See You Again." The single also
topped the singles chart in Australia, Canada,
Denmark, Germany, Italy, New Zealand, Sweden, and
Switzerland.
April 25: Charlie topped the
Billboard Hot 100 chart for 12 weeks,
R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart for 14 weeks and Rap
Songs chart for 15 weeks helping out Wiz Khalifa with "See You Again."
August 20: Charlie topped the UK
singles chart for 1 week with help from Meghan Trainor with "Marvin Gaye." The single also topped the
singles charts in France and New Zealand.
January 29: Charlie released his
debut LP Nine
Track Mind. The LP hit the Top 10 in the US,
Australia, Canada, Holland, France, New Zealand,
Scotland, South Africa, South Korea, Switzerland,
and the UK. The LP hit #1 in Taiwan.
