Ozzy "John" Osbourne
was born December 3, 1948 in England. From
being a driving force behind heavy metal band
Black Sabbath (in the 70s)
and to becoming a solo success as 'the prince
of darkness' (in the 80s and 90s) - who would
have thought Ozzy Osbourne would have renewed
fame as TV's favorite dad in the new
millenium.
Ozzy officially split from Black
Sabbath and began recording solo
material with the help of a band that
included Randy Rhoads
(formerly of Quiet Riot) and
Bob Daisley (formerly of Rainbow).
Ozzy named his band 'The Blizzard Of Ozz.'
Ozzy released Blizzard
Of Oz with the hit "Crazy
Train."
In Scotland, Ozzy performed his
first solo concert.
Ozzy began touring the US with
this band.
Blizzard
Of Oz was certified gold.
Ozzy released Diary
Of A Madman with the hits "Flying High
Again," "Over the Mountain,"
and "You Can't Kill Rock &
Roll."
Ozzy created a stir when he bit
the head off a bat that was thrown on stage
during a performance in Iowa. The bat bit
back resulting in Ozzy having to get rabies
shots.

Of A Madman was certified platinum.
Ozzy was arrested for urinating
on a part of the Alamo in Texas.
Ozzy's guitarist, Randy Rhoads,
was killed in a plane mishap. Rhoads was 25.

December 9: Ozzy was hospitalized
with a broken collarbone, ribs and a neck
injury after a quad bike accident at his home
in England.
Ozzy cancelled his 20-date
European tour, set to kick off in Germany,
due to on-going recovery from accident.
The 4th and final season of The
Osbournes began.
February 5: Essential

Ozzy and Sharon had to leave
their England mansion when a fire broke out
in their living room.
