presents The Top Pop Songs
Of All Time !
We have ranked the top pop songs that have charted over the past
50+ years on The ARC Weekly Top 40 and Billboard Hot 100, and
come up with
a definitive list that will continue to expand as we add to it,
and continue to modify as new songs chart on The ARC Weekly Top
40.
Frank Ocean was born
Christopher Edwin Breaux on Otober 28, 1987 in
California and raised in Louisiana. Ocean
relocated to Los Angeles after Hurricane Katrina
destroyed in recording space in 2005, Before
being known as a solo performer, Ocean was a
member of 'Odd Future' - a hip hop collective.
Ocean also wrote songs for several major artists
and signed with Def Jam Recordings in 2009. In
2010, Ocean changed his name to 'Christopher
Francis Ocean' and to just 'Frank Ocean' five
years later. In 2011, Ocean released the mixtap Nostalgia,
Ultra.
July 4: Prior to the release of
his debut LP, Ocean posted an open letter on his
blog commenting on his love for another man when
he was 19, and referencing it as his first true
love. The posting became news given the nature of
the post and limited same-sex references in the
hip-hop world that are not offensive. The
relationship was further noted in his song
"Thinkin Bout You." Russell Simmons
said of the posting: "I am profoundly moved
by the courage and honesty of Frank Ocean. Your
decision to go public about your sexual
orientation gives hope and light to so many young
people still living in fear."
September 10: Ocean topped the
Billboard 200 LP chart for 1 week, Digital Albums
chart for 1 week, Album Sales chart for 1 week,
R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart for 2 weeks, and Top
R&B Albums for 2 weeks with Blonde.
