Mya Marie Harrison was born
October 10, 1979 in Washington, DC and
originally started her entertainment career
as a dancer. Mya found success with her
dancing eventually joining TWA (Tappers With
Attitude) and studying dance with
master-tapper Savion Glover. In her teen
years, Mya switched to singing and landed a
record contract at age 16. But by the time
she reached 18, she was dancing her way up
the music charts.
