- Miranda was born and raised in
Texas. Miranda first began to get noticed
nationally in 2003 when she finished in third
place on the singing competition show, Nashville
Star. She soon signed with Epic Records
(later transitioning to Columbia Records). Soon
her LPs would showcase her country singing and
songwriting and Miranda was hailed by critics as
a 'fresh sound' for country music.
- April 2: Miranda topped the
Billboard Country Albums chart for 1 week with Kerosene.
- May 11: Miranda married country
artist Blake Shelton.
- May 28: Miranda topped the
Billboard Country Songs chart for 1 week with
"Heart Like Mine."
- September 6: Miranda joined forces
with Ashley Monroe and Angaleena
Presley and formed 'Pistol Annies. Pistol
Annies released their debut LP Hell
On Heels.
- February 8: Miranda could be seen on
the NBC series Law & Order: Special
Victims Unit.
- May 19: Miranda topped the
Billboard Country Songs chart for 1 week with
"Over You."
- December 7: Miranda topped the
Billboard Country Airplay chart for 1 week with Keith Urban with "We Were
Us."
- June 3: Miranda released Platinum.
- June 7: Miranda topped the
Billboard Country Digital Songs chart for 1 week
with help from Carrie Underwood with "Somethin'
Bad."
- June 19: Miranda appeared on the
cover of Rolling Stone.
- June 21: Miranda topped the
Billboard 200 LP chart for 1 week, Digital Albums
chart for 1 week, and Country Albums chart with Platinum.
- August 25: Miranda topped the
Billboard Country Airplay chart helping out Jason Aldean with "Drowns The
Whiskey."
- November 2: Miranda's side project,
the Pistol Annies released Interstate
Gospel
which toppe the Billboard Country Albums chart
and Digital Albums chart.
- August 1: Miranda topped the
Billboard Country Airplay chart with
"Bluebird."
