- The Lumineers consist of
Wesley Schultz, Jeremiah Fraites, Neyla Pekarek
and hail from Colorado and New Jersey. The trio
originally started as a duo - the result of
Schultz and Fraites coping with the drug overdose
of Fraites' brother in 2002. The duo wrote and
performed songs under a number of band names
including 'Free Beer' and 'Wesley Jeremihah.' Jay
Van Dyke joined the band in 2008 as the band
transitioned from '6Cheek' to 'The Lumineers.'
Van Dyke would later file a lawsuit claiming more
involvement with the group than described by the
trio. In 2010, Pekarek joined the duo after
responding a Craigslist ad.
- April 12: The Lumineers released
their debut LP The
Lumineers. The LP hit the Top 10 in the US,
Australia, Ireland, the Netherlands, and the UK.
- June 30: The Lumineers topped the
Billboard Adult Alternative Songs chart for 8
weeks with "Ho Hey."
- September 29: The Lumineers topped the
Billboard Rock Songs chart for 18 weeks and
Alternative Songs chart for 2 weeks with "Ho Hey."
- January 5: The Lumineers topped the
Billboard Adult Top 40 Tracks chart for 8 weeks
with "Ho Hey."
- January 5: The Lumineers topped the
Billboard Adult Alternative Songs chart for 8
weeks with "Stubborn Love."
- January 19: The Lumineers performed
"Ho Hey" and "Stubborn
Love" on Saturday Night Live.
- May 4: The Lumineers topped the
Billboard Adult Contemporary chart for 8 weeks
with "Ho Hey."
- March 19: The Lumineers topped the
Billboard Adult Alternative Songs chart for 11
weeks with "Ophelia."
- April 8: The Lumineers released Cleopatra.
- April 15: The Lumineers topped the
UK LP chart with Cleopatra.
- April 30: The Lumineers topped the
Billboard 200 LP chart for 1 week, the Digital
Albums chart for 1 week, the Album Sales chart
for 1 week, the Rock Albums chart for 1 week, and
the Alternative Albums chart for 2 weeks with Cleopatra. The LP also topped the LP
charts in Canada, and the Top 10 in Australia,
Ireland, New Zealand, and Switzerland.
- June 11: The Lumineers topped the
Billboard Alternative Songs chart for 4 weeks
with "Ophelia."
- March 11: The Lumineers topped the
Billboard Alternative Songs chart for with
"Cleopatra."
- June 8: The Lumineers topped the
Billboard Adult Alternative Songs chart with
"Gloria."
- June 22: The Lumineers topped the
Billboard Rock Airplay chart and Alternative
Songs chart with "Gloria."
- November 23: The Lumineers topped the
Billboard Alternative Adult Songs chart with
"Life In The City."
- November 13: The Lumineers topped the
Billboard Alternative Adult Songs chart with
"Brightside."
- December 25: The Lumineers topped the
Billboard Alternative Airplay chart with
"Brightside."
- October 12: The Lumineers topped the
Billboard Adult Alternative Airplay chart helping
out James Bay and Noah
Kahan with "Up All Night."
