Dido's history with music came
early while growing up in London with
studying at the Guildhall School of Music in
London and playing numerous instruments by
the time she turned 10 years of age. In her
teens, Dido sang with various groups and
eventually teamed up with her brother,
Rollo's band Faithless. She toured with the
band for 2 years in the mid-90s. Dido had
also worked as a literary agent and attended
law school. Dido's musical success would
eventually grow as one of her songs is used
as the theme song for the WB TV show Roswell and another is
featured in the film Sliding
Doors and sampled on a
popular rapper's LP.
Dido met with Arista Record's
Clive Davis which eventually led an audition
and a record contract. Her first recording
came in the form of an EP titled The
Highbury Fields.
Dido could be heard on the
soundtrack for Sliding
Doors with "Thankyou". The track was
used again for the HBO film If
These Walls Could Talk 2.
Exposure to Dido's music came
with touring various-sized venues and a stint
with the Lilith Fair tour. Dido's song "Here With Me" was used as the
theme song for WB's television show Roswell.
Dido released her debut LP No
Angel - Interview magazine
said of the LP "...(it) feels just about
perfect."

Eminem released The
Marshall Mathers LP with some critics
hailing the LP as genius and often pointing
out his track "Stan" which sampled
Dido's song "Thankyou." Dido talked to
MTV about the pairing: "I got this
letter out of the blue one day. It said 'We
like your album, we've used this track. Hope
you don't mind, and hope you like it.' When
they sent it to me and I played it in my
hotel room, I was like, 'Wow! This track's
amazing'."
The combination of radio
stations gradually adding "Here With Me" and the exposure
from Eminem's controversial LP
