ZZ Top formed in 1969 in Texas with members Billy
Gibbons on guitar and lead vocals, Dusty Hill on bass
and vocals, and Frank Beard on drums. Gibbons first
became involved with a band called 'The Coachmen' in
the mid-60s which later became 'Moving Sidewalks.' By
1970, ZZ Top was formed with Gibbons, Lanier Grieg
and Dan Mitchell who were soon replaced with Hill and
Beard. ZZ Top has transcended decades in the music
industry with their mix of rock, boogie and blues -
while keeping their music fun and their trademarks
beards and sunglasses.
ZZ Top performed together for the first time live in
