Staind hail from Boston,
Massachusetts and consists of Aaron Lewis on
vocals, Mike Mushok on guitar and backing
vocals, Johnny April on bass and backing
vocals, and Jon Wysocki on drums and backing
vocals. Staind originally formed in
Springfield, Massachusetts when Lewis met
Mushok in 1995. Mushok's background includes
an Electrical Engineering degree. April's
work history before joining Staind (as their
second bassist) included working as an auto
mechanic and cook as well as being a member
of the bands 'Maniax' and 'Mostly Holy.'
Staind
self-released the CD Tormented which
ended up selling over 4,000 copies. Tracks on
the LP included: "Tolerate,"
"Break," "Come Again,"
"Painful," "Nameless,"
"Mudshuvel," "See Thru,"
"Question?," "No One's
Kind," "Self Destruct," and
"4 Walls."
Staind performed at a concert
venue that also featured Limp Bizkit - a connection
developed with Fred Durst which eventually
led to Staind getting a record deal with Flip
Records.
Staind released Dysfunction.
Staind hit the rock and
alternative charts with "Just Go"
and "Mudshovel."
Staind toured as part of the
'Family Values' package tour.
Staind hit the rock and
alternative charts with "Home."
Dysfunction was certified
platinum.
