
Jordin Sparks was born on December 22, 1989 in
Arizona and at the age of 17 became the youngest
winner of American Idol during the TV talent show's
6th season. Jordin, the daughter of former football
player Phillippi Sparks, was raised in Arizona and
New Jersey. Prior to winning American Idol, Jordin was a plus-size model
while pursuing her musical interests. When Jordin was
only 13 she released the EP For Now
independently. Jordin's first attempt at making on American Idol in California didn't work out
but she was given 'the golden ticket' when she won
the 'Arizona Idol' contest.

Jordin was named the winner of the 6th season of American Idol on May 23rd.
An EP by Jordan was released for digital download and

Jordin began as the supporting act on Alicia Keys' 'As I Am' tour. A vocal cord
injury prevented her from starting the tour in
February.
