Il Divo is made up of vocalists Urs Buhler, Sebastien Izambard, David Miller, and Carlos Marin. The name of the 4some comes from the Italian phrase meaning 'Italian divine Male performer.' The 'operatic-pop' (sometimes called 'popera') group was a two year creation of Simon Cowell of American Idol fame after he conducted a worldwide search for members of the group and eventually settled on tenor Buhler from Switzerland, singer Izambard from France, tenor Miller from the US, and baritone Martin from Spain. Critics have been very hard on the group referring to them as a "...collection of pretenders..." performing "...watered-down, pop-addled opera gallantry..."
