Gotye, born Wouter
"Wally" De Backer on May 21, 1980, is a

to psychedelic neo-exotica to electro Motown. The
result: ingenious, oddly touching, refreshingly
emphatic bedroom pop..." Gotye grew up in
Australia with a strong interest in music and
various instruments. Gotye is also involved with
the Australian trio The Basics.
Gotye achieved worldwide success with his
single "Somebody That I Used To Know" - first gaining
airplay over-seas and then having an intriguing
video associated with it that gained notice in
the US.
