Fuel hail from Pennsylvania and consists of Brett
Scallions on vocals, Carl Bell on guitar, Jeff
Abercrombie on bass, and Kevin Miller on drums. The
band conception started back in 1989 in Tennessee
when Bell and Abercrombie got together with Scallions
to form a band. Two other bandmates, Jody Abbott and
Erik Avakian, joined the group. By 1994, the band
moved to Pennsylvania an released an 8-track tape, Fuel
(but the group was calling themselves 'Small The
Joy'). Avakian left the group shortly before they
released the EP Porcelain in May, 1996. In
1997, Fuel signed with a major label - Sony and the
EP Hazleton was released. By the end of the
year, Abbott left the group and was replaced with
Kevin Miller. Fuel began to get more widespread
recognition as the single "Shimmer" hit the
airways.
Fuel released Sunburn.
Fuel hit the rock and alternative charts with the
tracks "Shimmer" and
"Bittersweet."
Fuel could be heard on the the Godzilla soundtrack with "Walk The
Sky."
Fuel began their first world tour.
Fuel hit the rock and alternative charts with the
tracks "Jesus Or A Gun" and
"Sunburn."
At the end of the year, a New Year's Eve
concert in Washington, DC with Everclear and Third Eye Blind was cancelled
for undisclosed reasons.
