• The Band Perry consists of 3 siblings from Alabama: Kimberly Perry on lead vocals, guitar, and piano, Reid Perry on bass guitar and backing vocals, and Neil Perry on drums, mandolin, accordion, and backing vocals. The trio formed in 2005 and eventually signed with Republic Nashville label in 2009.

• October 12: The Band Perry released their debut LP The Band Perry (available for download at iTunes and Amazon-mp3). The trio had previous released 5 of the songs as The Band Perry EP in April. The LP hit the Top 10 in the US (including hitting #2 on the Billboard Country Albums chart).

• December 11: The Band Perry topped the Billboard Country Songs chart for 1 week and the Country Digital Songs chart with "If I Die Young."
