Our Lady Peace formed in Canada
and consists of Raine Maida on vocals, Steve
Mazur (who replaced Mike Turner) on guitar,
Duncan Coutts (who replaced Chris Eacrett) on
bass, and Jeremy Taggart on drums. The roots
of the band began in 1992 at the University
of Toronto with Maida and Turner who then
recruited Eacrett and Taggart. The band's
name comes from a 1943 poem by Mark Van
Doren.
Our Lady Peace toured with Alanis
Morissette and had a hit on alternative
radio with "Starseed."
Our Lady Peace released Naveed.
Eacrett was replaced by bassist
Duncan Coutts.
Our Lady Peace released Clumsy.
Our Lady Peace won a
MuchMusic Award for Favorite Group.
Clumsy was certified gold.
Our Lady Peace performed at
Woodstock '99.
Our Lady Peace released Happiness...Is
Not A Fish That You Can Catch.
Our Lady Peace won 2
MuchMusic Awards for Favorite Canadian Group
and Favorite Canadian Video ("Is Anybody
Home?").
Our Lady Peace released Spiritual
Machines.
Turner left the band and was
replaced by Steve Mazur on guitar.
