Joe was born Joe Lewis Thomas in
Georgia and raised in Alabama, the son of 2
preachers and influenced early by R&B and
gospel music. After moving to New Jersey,
Joe's music success began with recording a
demo and contributing a track to the
soundtrack for Don't
Be A Menace in 1996 - "All The Things (Your
Man Won't Do)." Joe ended the 20th
century rising to stardom and becoming a new
force in R&B.
After Joe signed a deal with
Jive Records, he helped out with writing and
producing many other major music artists such
as Toni
Braxton and TLC.
Joe released his debut LP, Everything. The LP caused little
stir.
