D12, or Dirty Dozen, consists of
Proof (DeShaun Holton), Kuniva (Von
Carlisle), Kon Artis (Denine Porter), Bizarre
(Rufus Johnson), Swifty (Oscar Moore), and Eminem. D12 was actually
formed by Proof and Bizarre in 1990 and based
in Detroit. A former member, Bugz, was
murdered (and replaced by Swifty in 1998).
The group grew to 6 members, each naming
themselves with aliases.
D12 released Devil's
Night.
Devil's
Night topped the Billboard 200 LP
chart for 2 weeks and the Top R&B/Hip-Hop
Albums chart for a week.
D12 topped the Billboard Hot Rap
Singles chart for 3 weeks with "Purple Hills."
D12 hit the Top 40 with "Purple Hills."
