Craig David was born May 5, 1981
in England. Craig grew up experimenting with
music: writing songs, DJing, remixing, and
focusing on his love for R&B and hip-hop
music. When Craig was 15, he won a national
songwriting competition for a tune called
"I'm Ready." By the time he was 19,
Craig had conquered the charts in the UK. Elton
John said of Craig: "If there's
a better singer than Craig David in Britain,
then I'm Margaret Thatcher."
Craig topped the UK Singles
chart with "Fill Me In" for a week.
