Alternative rock trio Blink-182
hail from San Diego, California and formed in
1993. Blink-182 consists of Mark Hoppus on
bass, Tom DeLonge on guitar, and Travis
Barker on drums. Barker replaced original
drummer Scott Raynor in 1998.
Blink 182, originally known as
'Blink' released the EP Flyswatter.
Blink-182 released Buddha.
Blink-182 released Cheshire
Cat - the band's first full-length
LP.
'Blink' changed their name to
Blink-182 after the threat of a lawsuit by
another band with a similar name.
Blink-182 released Dude
Ranch with the track "Dammit
(Growing Up)" that began getting major
play on alternative radio. The success of the
LP helped landed a deal with a larger record
company - MCA Records.
Blink-182 could be heard on the Godmoney soundtrack with
"Voyeur."
Dude
Ranch was certified gold.

Barker was critically injured in
a plane crash in South Carolina. Barker had
been performing at a college with DJ AM (who
was also critically injured) prior to the
crash. The four others on the plane did not
survive the crash.
Blink-182 reformed for a summer
tour.

Rock Albums chart and Alternative Albums
